Il presidente del Consorzio per lo smaltimento dei rifiuti del chietino, Concetta Di Luzio, ha annunciato, appena qualche giorno fa, l’accensione di un mutuo di 500 mila euro per coprire i costi di smaltimento nella discarica di Cerratina e le spese mensili della Consac, per il solo mese di febbraio. Intanto, il piano di riparto sugli oneri di gestione post-chiusura per il solo 2010, equivale a 356 mila euro complessivi, cifra che sebbene ridistribuita tra i comuni consorziati secondo la percentuale di utilizzo della discarica di Colle S. Donato appare inspiegabilmente troppo alta.

Il circolo di Rifondazione Comunista di Fara F. Petri, sostiene la necessità di fare leva su una serie di elementi significativi per evitare che la crisi attuale del Consorzio comprensoriale del chietino si trasformi in una vera e propria emergenza napoletana:
- Promozione e diffusione capillare della raccolta differenziata porta a porta in tutti i comuni del Consorzio;
- Rispetto delle quote e dei tempi di pagamento;
- Insegnamento di corsi di educazione ambientale in primary and secondary schools;
- Promotion and dissemination of home composting;
- Construction of a composting plant.
