The request of the Church to increase the rent of land is an act of harassment and unfair

The Church, through the Institute for the support of the diocesan clergy , is sending these days, farmers from different municipalities of Chieti, required to pay license fees for the current land lease granted . Many, of course, already complain that the reassessment, deemed too expensive, and therefore the amount calculated for the possible redemption (freed themselves) of the land. In all, about 500 farmers in the municipalities involved: Ripa Teatina, Vacri, Torrevecchia Bucchianico, Villamagna, Casalincontrada, and also Miglianico Filiorum Petri Fara .

Institute dicocesano in reevaluating the fees paid by its leaseholder, holding took the only benchmark the compensation calculated for the expropriations. In practice, the farmer who wanted to become owner of the land should pay to the owner, namely the Church, the same amount a public entity is the private expropriated. But if the first charges were contained, for example 100 euro per year, on the basis of that revaluation figures are tripled and therefore no longer sustainable.

PRC Community invites all interested farmers to refrain from applying to protest, no demand for payment, because the increase in rent is an act of unprovoked and disproportionate unfair to farmers themselves.

In our opinion this is an illegitimate request because, as often happens, the revaluation of the land takes no account of the real parameter culture actually used, or worse yet, do not exist in any manner the conditions for the existence of the lease:

- Lack of incorporation of the constraint.
- Lack of a criterion standard rate of appreciation of the canon.
- In some cases, the same fee was never paid, or at least has not been paid in the last 20 years, so it may have created a property right to adverse possession.
- Many property owners have acquired the formal acquisition plan and implementing the law, the property is free from constraints of any kind.
